Ali's Destiny

Are we really celebrating the bad guys now?

As a teacher facing children everyday, I wonder what stories they are absorbing when hearing about our world leaders? Social media is popular among kids, even in primary schools. And because my name is also Ali, just like Ali Khamenei, the late dictator of Iran, I was asked by one, whom do you support? The US or Iran? Because they’re quite young and I’ve build somewhat of good connection and trust with them, they choose to side with whatever I’m siding with.

It’s my job to teach them that kindness matters and that, integrity has its own reward. But how can I back this up when the world is controlled by the loudest and meanest voices? How can I back this up when the evil narcissists gets the standing ovations?

It’s exhausting watching cruelty dressed up as confidence and seeing compassion and kindness mocked as weakness. The worst part isn’t even the cheering, but the silence. How do you expect children to learn if you don’t show empathy to those that suffer? The world is not just celebrating the bad guys, they’re telling every kid watching that the quickest way to the top is to step on everyone else. I look around and I honestly don’t recognize the world anymore. Is this what we fought so hard to build? Have we run out of heroes to look up to?

The Iranian regime gotta end to gain freedom. We all can agree, right? Those protestors should never have been killed and for that, Iranian regime is pure evil. This isn’t something to agree to disagree to. That being said, those Western-born Iranians who ignore or excuse US killings of Iranian children in school are disgusting traitors. And I’m not talking about traitor to regime because the regime is obviously horrible, but traitor to their fellow compatriot. They’re not just traitor to their own fellow compatriot, they’re also traitor to the human race. Accepting and making excuses for their own kids getting bombed like that by the US and Israel means just one thing, you were never the good guy. And when I say you, I don’t mean all Persians, I mean just those of you who justify the bombing or overlook it. Because real pacifism doesn’t take lives, especially kids in school.

And you see the pictures above of dead children in Palestine? Who killed them? Israel.

I’ve noticed this new trend of Western-born Iranians neglecting or justifying the genocide in Palestine and claiming once there’s no power struggle, Palestinian would be pro-sharia law. You dipshits, I’m an atheist and an ex-Muslim, but I’ve got the morality to not ever let children die just because they happen to have different belief than mine. And more importantly, you don’t know what those children would be like when they grow up. Do you personally know them or did you just make up facts to feed your own agenda and fragile ego? Even then, different belief doesn’t mean death sentence. They’re children, so if you really claim to be a good person (which you clearly aren’t), then go teach them with kindness and generosity, rather than bombing them and making them starve.

You know, there was a time when we knew a villain by their mask. But now? The masks are off and we call their ruthlessness and narcissism “strength and confidence”. It’s a sad and confusing time to have a conscience. The worst part about all these narcissist reality show celebrities, politicians and musicians? We’re the ones giving them the spotlight, laughing at their jokes, and making them rich and famous. Yeah, maybe not everyone supports these narcissists, but the silence just shows one thing, it shows that the bad guys can keep going.

I don’t know what kind of world we’re leaving behind when being an asshole gets you famous, smugness is a career path and kindness is for fools. But if you’re the kind who takes advantage of others, you are why the world is suffocating. And yes, the world would be lighter, softer and better without you in it.
